Meadow semantics

Something in field yields, peels back to reveal a wilder version of itself: beetles glinting, roots mingling, untamed, let loose, shifting.  Something in field feels a pulse: molehills, warrens, gorse, heartbeat of wings. Field sings: skylarks, curlews, crows… sheds its old skin: flowering, godless; its own country, redefined: freed.
