Choose between being pawns                          卒

or an abrupt end. Years ago, in the news,
a man tried to kill himself 

by pegging. He chose a raw jade melon.
When I realised that causes 

were not newspapers’ strong suit, I started
to enjoy jade melon dishes again, 

especially the seeds
that soak up all the good sauce.

A true visionary, the man
who keeps living the jade suicide

every time someone thinks of him.
